I don't know if this is reliable or if its old but I just want to throw it out there. Apparently it supports the XGD3 format. Doesn't say if the phat drives will get it but I am assuming it will.

There is no problem with 0225 firmware. The problem is that the WRITE PROTECT on the drive is enabled and it is currently impossible to write the hacked fw to the drive. This is being heavily investigated by the team.

What about the other phat drives? Will LT 2.0 be enable xgd3 backups to be played on them?
