according to the NFO it is a retail source that made the rip. NTSC/U
Pretty reputable groups as well. I won't play on live, but I would trust this...
but I will also wait until verified to play

This levels out the playing field, for all those who were banned, they can get back at Microsoft by playing, whats probably going to be the best selling game of all time.

On abgx.net is says this is Pre-Patched SS / Stealth for iXtreme?
With the old MW2 image flying around is that going to safe to play once abgx360 release the update? Or is a new one like this one needed?

Ok, I still dont understand the whole story with a modded 360. Heres my deal. I have 2. 1 for retail games and 1 i just had modded to play some pre release stuff. Now say i got this call of duty mw2. can i play it on my modded box just dont go on live? I dont want to play it online, just want to play some of the levels. But if i play it on my modded 360 and take my hard drive over to my retail 360, can i still get banned once it registers that i played it offline early? or for any game, aslong as i dont have any internet hooked up will it all home and show ive played a modded game? I know this has been covered before, search isnt pulling results i want and i just figured it would be easier to ask.

If there is a problem with the image, ABGX will fix it for you as long as it is set to level 3 autofix. And also, a verified rip of the game has to be in the ABGX database --> http://www.abgx360.net/verified.php

Has anyone else dl this rrod version? I did and after extraction i found that the iso was only 7.05 gigs... the only time i've seen an iso that small is when the person forgets to put in the split vid. So i burned the iso and ripped it using s360x this time adding split vid and now the size is normal (7.29 gb). I was just wondering if you guys noticed this as well or did I not get the same copy,? and also, should i have added the split vid to the iso at all? (don't know if this is new since the other wave 4 games are all 7.29 gb).

From the Quickstart section of abgx360: -
Quote: If you put an Xbox 360 disc in a normal DVD video player you will see a screen that says, "To play this disc, put it in an Xbox 360 console." This happens because there's a DVD video partition on the disc which is split over both layers on original discs. On normal backups the video partition is all on layer 0, and hacked firmwares are supposed to redirect reads to the layer 1 video back to layer 0. However, it was discovered that some hacked firmware versions prior to the release of iXtreme were not doing this properly, and if the Xbox 360 host tried to read the entire video partition, the second part of it would be blank because the firmware started reading from layer 1 instead of continuing to read from layer 0 like it was supposed to. One solution to this problem was called SplitVid, and it works by appending the layer 1 video to the end of an iso (padded up to the proper position based on PFI) so that when these buggy firmwares start reading from layer 1 they will actually read the layer 1 video instead of blank data. The better solution is to simply upgrade your firmware to the latest iXtreme version because these old firmwares have even more security holes, even if you have a perfectly stealthed disc. iXtreme versions prior to v1.4 also have a bug in disc jitter (see 'Is there such a thing as a "bad kreon rip"?' for more on this). If you still want to add SplitVid (or even if you want to remove it) you can select your preference in the Misc tab. The default behavior is to not check for it and just leave it the way it is, because if you're using iXtreme firmware it doesn't matter if a backup has SplitVid or not; data past the game partition will not be readable by the Xbox 360 host.

lol so it was not necessary at all. thanks funk, I got worried because all the other times i run an iso through abgx without splitvid it automatically added it and i knew it would not do it this time since it cannot check the splitvid on wave 4 games yet.

I just did my RRoD release as well and I'm getting the same thing: Wants to play the disc as a DVD Movie. I haven't been keeping up with the scene like I used to, but would this have anything to do with the wave 4 I've been reading about?
I'm using 1.6, may just have to wait for a new firmware for Tekken 6, MW2 and Force Unleashed :-(

Yes ... for wave 4 games you need the activate.iso disc for 1.6 on lite-on, beng, and samsung, Hitachi 1.51 will run the game without activate.iso.
OR
You can update your firmware to 1.61 if you have Beng or Samsung and play without activate.iso

UPDATE!!!
THIS RELEASE WORKS!!
i was having the issue with the game just prompting "Play DVD" when inserted into the xbox even when using the activate.iso dvd.
I was able to resolve it by updating my Benq firmware from 1.6 to 1.61.
the issue seems to be related to the 1.6 firmware on my Benq. with 1.61, the activate.iso also works for the other release that I've burnt prior to this release.
THANKS to RRoD!!
