Can I play USA games on my European xbox360 ?

Hi guy's just a quick question :)

I'm kinda new to the console modding ect... but I've left my kids xbox360 into a shop to get flashed with the latest firmware, so I just want to get a few games ready for when I collect it tomorrow so just wondering if I can play USA games on my European (Ireland) Xbox360 ?

I see some games say Region free in the title and some are Pal, but there is a couple that I would like to get that are on USA only.

So would I be wasting my time getting the USA titles or will the work in the european system.

P.s the kids won't be playing online, just offline.

The short answer is no as your console should be region coded as PAL. USA games are NTSC (NTSC-U). If you happen across games that are RF (Region Free) then they should work in your console...whether PAL or NTSC.

so does the actual ripping of the game remove the region code like with dvds

Cheers guy's thanks for the clarification :)

I had an idea it would be no, but as I had a modded ps2 from a few years back and I remember it would play all regions I just thought I'd ask. Just thought it might be the same process.

Just get "region Free" which will play in any Format PAL or NTSC

unfortunately the one I wanted for the kids is only available via NTSC at the min, but yes as you said I'll just grab the rf or pal.
