Can I Redirect a Console Ban?

I have two Xbox 360s at home, one is modded but the other is not. Like many others, I fell victim to the dashboard update and AP 2.5 when I tried to play Fable III back when it came out. Since a ban seems inevitable at this point, I'm wondering if I can plug the Wi-fi adapter and my hard drive into the unmodded 360 and redirect the console ban to the other 360 when the time comes (supposedly some time next week). Would this work, or would Microsoft also ban my gamertag, making the process useless?
