I'm trying to use JungleFlasher 0.1.64 to flash a BenQ drive.
JungleFlasher isn't detecting the drive.
The utility VIA V-RAID that boots with windows does show it, and it also appears in as a CD drive in "My Computer".
At first it wouldn't detect it at all, but then I did the tray half open trick and it showed up under windows, but still nothing under JungleFlasher.
My mouse pointer is randomly flashing a small cd next to the pointer as well, if that matters.
VIA V-RAID shows:
Disk Location--------------Disk Name-------------------Disc Function
<Controller 1, Master>---PBDS VAD6038-64930C----Function Normal
I have Net 2.0 installed.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Does this drive have ix1.6 already flashed to it? If a BenQ is being detected by Windows, it is in 0800 mode.

Ok, fixed that problem, I had to manually install the xbox360 device driver.
But now the computer freezes whenever I connect the xbox360.
I'm pulling my hair out over this one, been at it for almost 6 hours now.

Try removing the VIA driver:
1. Disable VIA card in Device Manager.
2. Go to C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers and remove "viamraid.sys" or "vsmraid.sys".
3. Re-enable VIA card in Device Manager.
4. Re-Boot PC.

Ok, did that. It no longer locks up, but it's also not detecting the drive again.
Doesn't it need the driver? There's a yellow exclamation point next to it in device manager.
Windows and VIA V-Raid aren't detecting it either.

Under the DVDkey32 tab, there is a "VIA Ports Only". Make sure that is checked and then look through the I/O ports again.

Shut the drive off and close out of JF. Turn the drive back on and start up JF again. Try clicking BenQ Unlock and see if you gain access to the flash chip.

When you were able to detect it, did it say "PBDS VAD6038-69430C"? Maybe restart the PC real quick and give it a go again.

Yep, that's what it says.
If I unplug the drive and plug it back in, it works, but then when it goes to read it, I get a few dots and the program locks up. When I go to restart JF, I get no drive detected again. If I unplug the drive and replug it in, it detects the drive, but then again, it locks up after it starts to read.
BenQ unlock also works, it's just locking up when it attempts to read it.

What does the flash chip properties look like? You might try DosFlash32 v1.7.

That's exactly what mine says too. I think it might be that I'm trying to use a cheapo SATA card on an old machine. I'll try this again once I get a newer system. Thanks for the help though, I really appreciate it.

This happened to my benQ i think its because JF detects it for a bout 20-30 secs and when you put read it just stops because it doesnt read it anymore.

Try Dosflash32, JF sucks.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Not in this thread (or I am blind again).
If you halfway know what you are doing Dosflash32 is the better alternative for a Benq.

Idid, I tried the external port and an internal port. After wasting a Saturday night, I'm thinking that paying $30 for someone to do this is a better option.

Sorry it didn't work out. You have someone local to mod for you?
