im gonna order me a new drive both my dvd drives took a poop at the same time. was thinking of just getting a Kreon Drive for now and waiting a bit for another drive. can you use the Kreon Drive as a normal drive to burn with and read all other disk?
Well the KREON drives aren't a burner, they are just a reader, so that cancels that option out for ya. I can't remember if I was able to read other stuff or not, since I don't have one anymore, but I think it was only meant to read 360 games, since it has the KREON firmware installed.
I mean if it didn't have the KREON installed, then ya you could use it for other things.
Make sure it can burn Dual Layer Discs. I recommend Pioneer brand, just because I've had this Pioneer burner for 3 years, and it's still holding strong for me!
keron drives can play movies and read some data discs . but best left as a xbox 360 reader really there not that fast off a drive to do normal things mine is a d162d sammy . the best burner is pieoneer 116d
