Hi all.

I'm thinking about upgrading to a 360 but I was wondering about one thing that I've not been able to find the answer to. I have a lot of games on my original Xbox and of course I load them off the hard drive for speed. Now excuse the potential newbieness of this question but is it, or will it ever be, possible to play these games on a 360? I know that you can chuck many original discs in to an unmodded 360 and play them but obviously that would be less desirable.

I also use XBMC a lot too, and I know this is currently at proof-of-concept stage so I'm not worried about that at this stage.

Cheers.

Unfortunately that is not possible at this point. Hopefully in the future it will be.

Even if it were possible the xbox 1 games won't look or play any better on a 360,instead i'd advise you to get another original xbox or more just in case the main one packs a sad,i don't know what i'd do without my old xbox's besides the fact the 360 can't read past 120gb

I knew I was kinda going out on a limb when I asked. I mean if XBMC is barely possible then I couldn't see how anything else would be. I've actually got 2 more classics that I'm gonna sell but I might only sell one after what you said. I'd be lost without it! XBMC really is the killerest app ever for a home cinema setup.

Looks like I'll be sticking with my XBox Classic and Dreamcast then! Versatility all the way...

Keep all of em,unless you suspect there are issues with any of em,if you know they're good & reliable.
If it makes ya feel any better
2 x 2 xbox's hardmodded with extender kits fitted so each box has 3 500 hdd's

The other 2 are waiting for money so i can fit two more chips & buy extender kits for those which means i'll need 6 more hdd's,huge movie collection is the main reason for the extenders being fitted, the only downside to the extenders is the bastards won't just sell the electronic components by themselves if they pack up,tho you can just fit a normal selector switch if need be or make your own extneder

Hmmm... hadn't heard of the extender kits and now I'm curious. Until now I've been softmodding all the way - obviously that limits HD capacity to a degree but hey I store my media on a server.

Just looked on eBay to see how much I might be able to get for my softmodded spare one but can't see any listings. Do such items get removed for legal reasons?

Not sure as i live in NZ,there are no such regulations to stop anyone selling or advertising moddding unless they're including games on the hdd, however i think in the UK & the States it's illeagal to sell modded consoles, varnull would know better than me if your in the UK
