hi there people, been a while since i was on these forums.
long story short, my brother was up the other day, asked if i could flash xbox 360, thought id give it a go.
Open his xbox and its a philips liteon drive. Now looking online the drive cant just be flashed.
Just wanted to clear some stuff up, its confusing. So i dont go blow money on it and not need it.
Ok my interpritation.
Alot of people say the drive cant be flashed like a normal drive. Because the lack of a flash chip or something, no way to get the key off of the drive without other tools.
So bacily, i think i need .-
-Compatable stat chipset on my pc
-LT switch
-a ck3 revision d
solder on the lt switch (soldering i can do :)) hook it to the ck3, and hook it up to the pc, extract the drive key, reflash the drive and put back together, sertian wave games wont work unless i use an activation disk.
once done all is good.
also could someone tell me wtf waves are, wave 3 , 4, 6 , people mention em, but havent seen a definition of them. Am i missing something , or is there a specific tutorial for my drive, cause i cant find one. I have the philips liteon drive, number starts with 74 if i remember rightly

If you're confident with your soldering and have a multimeter/continuity tester you dont even have to mess with the LT switch. This is the method I use and it works just fine: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=698256 You also dont need a ck3 but it is a little easier/safer for live than powering with the 360 itself.
As far as the waves go it's just changes in the disc structure, I guess when they put in updates or whatever (like when they introduced the NXE they had to go to wave 3 i think). With the liteons though you use the LT firmware which will boot any wave and you wont have to worry about an activation disc
r3aper, IF you're gonna go the CK3 + LT switch route, you may as well ditch the LT switch and get a CK3 Probe 2 instead (about $10 more). A little easier, and you can use it over and over and over and over and over.............. and even over.
