Ive been looking around and i can not seem to figure out what i need to jtag my xbox...I see guides on how to do it but then when i read on through any guide it talks about backing up the nand..On any system or mod i have ever done this was so that you could put the thing you were modding back to "factory" conditions..I just want to know what a jtag actually does. Can i play emulators and my roms by simply soldering three wires on the board? Can i play dlc that is not mine? If someone could shed some light on this that would be great or maybe point me in the write direction

A box with dashboard version 7371 or lower and some soldering skills.

It's necessary to extract/read the nand. it has all the info in it that will be put into you new XBR or freeBOOT dashboard.

That's another reason extracting/reading the nand. In case you have any problems, the original can be put back on it.

More like ten wires. Seven to read the nand, and three for the JTAG.
