Connecting your 360 to an Ethernet port on your computer or laptop running Windows 7, enabling you to use your computers WIFI connection to get on to XBOX LIVE.
Step 1: Make sure you have an Ethernet cable and that you have a free Ethernet port on your laptop or computer.
Step 2: Connect your XBOX 360 and computer together with the Ethernet port.
Step 3: Go to the bottom right hand corner of your computer screen, go to the network icon, right click on it and it should bring up a list with open network and sharing center choose this option.
Step 4: On the left hand menu of the network and sharing screen there is a link to change adapter settings click on it to open up a window displaying your adapters.
Step 5: Select both your WIFI adapter and the Ethernet adapter you are using to connect your XBOX and your computer, then whilst they are both highlighted right click on one and choose bridge connections now you should be able to connect to XBOX LIVE through your computers WIFI connection.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If not then you may need to go to your Ethernets adapter?s properties, so right click on it and use the drop down menu to find properties, then go to the sharing tab at the top of the window, and deselect the two options.
If it?s still not working you need to log on to your routers set up page and make sure you have no conflicting IP addresses each router is different but the start of the address will most probably be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 you may have to enter a user name and password, you can find it in the documentation of your router and remove some of the IP addresses and then reassign them to ones that don?t cause problems at another point in time.
