Why not just use an HDMI--> DVI adapter?

someone else suggested that but said the sound quality isnt good.will it greatly improve the picture quality cos the 360 was connected to an old tv but wen we tried the hd ready one the graphics r terrible

It's digital. The sound will be the same.

Also, your DVI port must support sound being transferred over DVI. Most DVI ports do not support that.
