So I got a RROD 360 off ebay fixed it then got myself a used controller but the controller won't sync with the 360, the lights spin on the controller and on the 360 when I hit the sync buttons but they never connect. I had buddy at work take the controller home with him to test it out, assuming the controller works what part of the 360 should I look at?

I've had a 360 that wouldn't sync with a controller, and then one that would only sync with the second controller slot. Best thing to do is buy a wired controller. The actual part on the 360 that syncs the controllers up is built into the motherboard and I'm not sure if its replaceable. I would assume it probably is, but I haven't seen where anyone has done it.

Plug and play charge kit may solve the sync problem.

Try laying the x360 horizontally instead of vertically. For some reason after flashing my drive and putting it back together, my controller wouldnt sync. Laying the x360 horizontally solved my problem and two other peoples also.

you might need a new rf module. when you take the box apart, it is the little board that has the ring of light on it. top left corner, it says "RF Module" with a white sticker. probably find one for like 20 bucks or something.

I had a problem like this with one of my controllers and it turned out to be a faulty battery cover. When I replaced it, it synced just fine and I never had issues with ever again. Weird.
