Hi Guys

I have a chipped xbox 360 which i am sure has the newest firmware. I have downloaded 4 games so far from a respected uploaded Multi 5 and 2 games have worked and the other 2 have not. The 2 that do not work i have done the same way to the 2 that work. I am not sure if this is something i am doing.

The message comes up with disc not readable please clean disc or restartthe computer.

Could this be a DVD problem or actual download.

Also what do you do with the DVD file that comes along with the ISO file?

Thank you

What media are you using? Could be a bad media problem, or you may not have burned the game correctly.

Try some Verbatim DVD+R DLs Made in Singapore. Also read my signature to learn how to burn the games properly.

Do we really need to stress it any more? Verbatims are by far the most sure fire way to go.

As for this brand, I did a little research.

These have faked MID code and were made by Umedisc's Chinese subsidiaries. The code reads Ricoh, but inner ring of the media is totally clear, no identifying marks, logos, or numbers (unlike a true Ricoh disc).

They are made in China, even though Ricoh's are made in Japan? Little sketchy, but I also read that they aren't incredibly bad for fakes. They just shouldn't be used for a 360, where having a bad disc leads to errors and (supposedly) bans..

Verb's are quite expensive but they are supposed to be scratch resistant, I personally use Arita Full face DL, I pay around £11 for 25, they are only 2.4 speed but I'd rather burn at that and know i get a good burn, I never had a single burn fail yet.

For around a buck a disc, Verbatims aren't that expensive. At least you don't have to worry about read errors or coasters. Besides, do you really need to go for quantity, not quality? How many games do you have to burn?!

again, this is dumb. Use only verbs.

Also, have you stealth checked the games to see if they pass?

End of story is that no disc can match that of the original XBOX 360 game. However, Verbatim's are the next best thing. What you have following is a stream of other brands that start from about 2 points below verbatim (I'd put the Aone Premium discs here) and get degeneratively worse. I've seen Verbatims fail to burn, burn out lasers, degrade over time and people getting the ban stick using them.

But I've noted these problems occuring frequently more with other branded media! As with the whole business of modding, you can either mod your console properly with the latest firmware and keep it up to date and you can also use the best media, not doing this increases your risks of bannage/faulty disks etc..

:D

It was meant to backup the following on statement. :p I'm just saying that although Verbs are the best, other disks still work fine. I know more people who have been using Ritek's and Aone's since last year and have yet to have a coaster or be banned or have their game disk degrade than I do those who use verbs. You just have that risk, similar to using a non surge protected power adaptor for example!

So in short Verbatim DVD+R DL are best....

A big thank you to you all for your help. I have just seen you can get 25 of them on Amazon for armound £25 which is not to bad if its as good as you guys are saying.

I am not sure about the drive i have, however will check when i go home and update it. perhaps it could be this.

Thans again
