(a little background info) A local guy is offering to flash my 360 for $30. He says its Light (or Lite idk) Touch, and it will work will all current and past games.

My questions: 1) Will this firmware do as he says? (I don't plan on taking this console online, I have two consoles so I'm not worried about any sort of ban)
2) Are backups generally as functional as the original game? (I've read that most backups eventually mess up or something is wrong, like they freeze at a certain point or you can't save)
3) Will this increase the chances of my 360 getting RROD? (This console is about 2 years old I think, it came with lego indiana jones and kung fu panda during the holidays)
4) Are burning the backups from internet downloads relatively simple? (I've read a lot of stuff about how you have to run through different programs and configure your drive and so on; my burning knowledge is basically just dvds and ripping ps1 games onto a flashed psp)

I really do thank anyone who can help. I know these are all probably super-nub questions, but I've been looking around for about a week and haven't really found any conclusive answers.

1) yes that firmware will play all current and past games
2) I've never had a problem with disks not saving or anything like that. As far as my experience goes I would never be able to tell if I had a burned or an original in the drive unless I looked at it.
3)simply no
4)They are very simple. get the backup however you would like. if you use torrents they generally come zipped into lots of little zip files so just open on of the zip and drag the contents out and it will link all the small ones together. that should give you the iso. once you have the iso get a program call imgburn (i got mine from download.com) install it. open it up. then you need to change one setting. got to tools> settings> write> and then on the right top check the "user specified" box and enter the value 1913760 where is has the Lo sectors (that makes the xbox recognize it as a game) and then just burn like normal.

PS $30 isnt bad of a price either. my buddy does it for $50 so he isn't ripping you off either

Hope this helps

Sorry zergpro but you missed one important step, ALWAYS RUN THROUGH ABGX, if you dont do this you will probably get banned. Doing this will also create a .dvd file also so yo dont need to set the layerbreak manually.
