I have an Xbox360 I've been playing around with, it has a zypher motherboard and the standard 16mb NAND. I wanted to JTAG it but i had already updated before I learned about homebrew and JTAGing. So I had kernel 2.0.9199.0 on it, I said to myself "oh well it cant be JTAGed I'll just update to the unreleased Kinect dash and have fun with that" link After that I learned about the cygnos360 modchip. I figured that this would be the perfect answer, I could have the kinect dash on the origional NAND and then the old NXE dash on the modchip. The thing is this seems to good to be true. Will this device be an answer to my JTAG wishes? is there anything I should know in advance?

You can't JTAG if your dashboard has been updated past 2.0.7371.0.

Yes but by using this chip would I be able to have one jtaged dash (on the chip's NAND) and the regular dash (on the mainboard NAND)?

No, you've updated the dash on your XBOX 360's NAND to 2.0.9199.0. Therefore you blew the CPU fuses and can't JTAG. The CB is locked to a non-exploitable CB so you can't JTAG even with a Cygnos.

Your only option at this point would be to find a console with dash 2.0.7371.0 or lower.

Actually I'm just going to reflash my DVD drive; I don't want to spend too much money on this. Loading games right off of the hard drive DID sound pretty cool, but my main goal was to run backups; Homebrew was a plus. I'm waiting for when IBM's eFuses are reverse engineered so they can be un-blown, and until then I don't plan on updating ever again. :)
