Hi Guy's i've been reading round the forum and i thinl i have a dud xbox my son tried to play dead island and it is stuck on the update screen saying it can't read the disc. I have no dummy.bin file as i bought this modded online a year ago. I used to mod the old sammys and stuff but have never been comfortable with soldering. Th drive is a lite on dg-16d2s-09c with firmware version 83850c built in august 2009. As far as i can tell i have to flash this back to stock to allow the update to complete. then reflash but i can't get the drive key and was wondering is this one of the drives a probe has to be used on to get the drive key?? any help would be appreciated kid is doin my head in and i don't wanna buy a new xbox in the current climate.

no this one all you do is download the latist jungle flasher eject tray,turn power off push tray half shut turn power back on click on read and follow direction.should tell u step by step info

Thanks i have tried the tray half opened today but the i get an extraction failed message at every attempt. I'm pulling the power plug as the tray closes the putting it back in to read. then it asks for tray full open i have tried both pulling it opened manually and using the eject button but i still get extraction failed am i doing something wrong. I dunno what version of ixtreme this box is running. Wish i'd known before i bought it i'd need the dummy bin file for times like these.

Also can i complete this update without the reflash via usb. i did download the latest dash update but it would not read from the usb stick. But i realised the dead island dsah might not be the latest version anyone know if this is possible as i can't get my drive key despite at least 50 attempts.

Okay guys heres an update i now have my dashboard problem solved and can boot into the xbox. I updated via usb turns out i was updating the wrong dash. I an now right up to date with the dash board but can't play any games including my originals. helpppppppppppp. Still gwtting the extraction error on the 083info in jungle flasher even though it seems to be reading something i think. Any ideas how i get my drive key to reflash to stock and update?? to lt1.91.

Since you've updated your dash, your drive is no longer firmware version 83850c. Now, you need a probe in order to get your dvdkey. AFAIK, there is no other way around this. Since you've updated with a flashed drive, you may still have to flash back to stock (after you get your key via vampire, probe II, etc. for lite-on drives). Then see if originals work first. After that, try to flash your modified firmware on to the drive with the proper dvdkey. All should be fine, as long as you don't hit the Erase button before you get your dvdkey. Also, some of the lite-on drives marked as 83850 were actually v2, or the 9 series which require a newer type probe (vampire, etc..) If you try to write the firmware without first extracting the key, you'll have a 8 LB brick. Good Luck!

This isn't a good sign, might be that your key was erased from your drive during this update, when the update tried to flash it back to stock and failed mid-process.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Thanks the drive is a 83850Cv1 which should not require a probe if i'm reading correctly. I do have an xecuter ck3 pro kit with probe but would i need to use it if it's a v1. Jungle flasher allows the tray open command thus it has to be a v1 according to what i'm reading on the forums. I have ordered the usb360pro to see if it makes a difference i have a via card and the drive does show in jungle flasher. If i do need to use the ck3 probe where should i insert it on an 83850c v1? Oh reboot the xbox and originals play again phew was worried then. Just need to get the damn drive key extracted.

One last question guy's i have an xecuter ck3 with probe one i have ordered a x360usb and a probe 3. Can i use this to pmt the 83850C v1 to get the drive key cause this update has stopped the drives ability to go into vendor mode i have tried many times over the last few days and always receive an extraction failed message. This is my last hope. But reading through the forums there does not seem to be a pmt method for this version of drive. I know it's this version cause jungle flasher allows it to go into half tray mode. Oh and one very last thing i assume now that my dash is on 13599 i only need to flash to the lt1.92 and not back to original firmware as the update has done that for me. Thanks in advance guy's

I'm pretty sure you'll be fine with the Probe 3. I use a Lizard with a Scorpion myself and that works fine.
As for flashing, it's actually LT+ 1.91 you want as 1.92 is for 360 S models, not the older "fats". All you need to do is dump the firmware to get your key (and make 100% sure the key is good), erase, then flash with LT+ 1.91 and you're done.

If its a Liteon Drive then you can use PMT or MRA on it.After the latest dash update the 83850 v1 drive is no longer an 83850 Series but a new firmware 0251c has been flashed on the drive.From now onwards the older version of JF will not work so you may have to use JF 1.83 or above (1.87 is the latest).The location of Drive key has also changed so the new JF may not say if the Drive Key is verified once flashed using any new firmware (Stock or Modded).I would suggest you to go for PMT Hack as it it much easier as compared to MRA.If you are not confident then take it to a modder and ask them to flash Lt 1.91 on it."Make sure to get your Drive Key" viz. origional firmware viz. Dummy.bin , Inquiry.bin , Keys.bin etc. from them.It might be useful in future if you want to work using a spare drive for testing and learning as one has to keep on flashing more in recent times.You may buy any new Liteon Drive viz. 73xxx series ,83xxx series or 93xxx series as after the latest update all of them have a common firmware 0251c.Spoofing to a different drive will lead to issues from now onwards.ALL THE BEST !

I Am free again thanks to u guy's an x360usb pro an a probe 3 My son has his dead island back up running and i can play tiger woods again lol. And i have the most important thing of all my dummy bin backed up to about 4 drives lol. Please tell me this is all the kit i need for these new xdg3 games cause if it's not i'm gonna cry.
