Hi,

Just got Dead Island but it's telling me I have to update my dashboard, I have an MS28 spoofed drive and was wondering what I need to do to play this game on my 360. Read somewhere that I need to reflash the MS28 to stock firmware, do the update, then reflash the MS28 to LT 1.9 firmware. The problem I've had in the past is the LT firmware doesn't play any of my backups so is there another solution? I'm currently running Ixtreme 1.61 which plays everything I've thrown at it and I only had to reburn a few games. Last thing I want to do is to have to reburn everything again to work on a new dashboard/firmware.

I still have my original Toshiba drive with it's original key flashed on it that I replaced with the MS28. Can I put that in, do the update then replace the drive with the MS28 so I don't have to flash it again?

Any help would be appreciated along with links to the relevent firmware, flash files etc that's needed to do the job. Also a step by step for myself and other users would be helpful.

Thanks in advance
Baz.

Thanks. That answers part of the question. When I first got my 360 I read somewhere the Samsungs were the best drives to have in the machine and the most compatible drives for media. All other people were having to use Verbatim disks to burn games but people using Samsungs said they could use almost any kind of dual layer disks so I got one and spoofed it to work. Has been for years no without a problem.

So once I update the dash with the original drive in what happens after? Can I just plug my Samsung back in with no problem and continue using my game collection? Do I have to reflash the firmware on it? Do I need to reburn games?

I could never get the LT software to work on it for some reason with Dosflash. After putting it on it wouldn't recognise any disks at all (including originals) even though it had completed the flash properly and had the correct key installed on it. Put it to Ixtreme 1.61 and it worked instantly so stuck with that firmware over the LT+ firmware.

Just found out the stock drive that was in my 360 was a Hitachi-LG GDR-3120L (0059DJ) firmware drive.
