Alright I have a broken xbox with the three red rings that I bought off of ebay. I also have a banned working xbox. I've just recently embarked on a journey to get a non banned xbox before bad company 2 comes out with the little money I have. There's a guy right down the street from me who repairs xbox's for 50 dollars and I'm thinking about bringing my broken xbox to him tomorrow. I'm just afraid that this xbox might get fixed and then end up being banned also. The seals are broken, and the guy definitely did the x clamp fix. So if it were banned then I'd be out 50 bucks.

Is there any way to check on the internet to see if a console is banned? Or can you call microsoft and give them the serial number to find out if a console if banned?

yea just go here http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/xb...spx?step=repair and sign in with your live account, put in your serial and try to do a repair. If it gives you an error you're probably banned. I think you can try calling them and asking some how too (though I wouldnt just say "hey am i banned?" though :)

I already did that. The warranty just says expired. But so does my banned console. If I were to call what could I ask them? Considering how simply put it is on the website I can't think of what I'd say.

Oh yeah, I came across that program earlier. I can't actually get into the dashboard though. If I could then I would just try to log onto live haha

I've bought about 10 360's from ebay within the last month. All of them had their seals broken, and only one of them was banned. This is just my experience, so take it for what it's worth. I'd say that there is about a 5-10 percent chance that it's banned. Odds are in your favor. Good Luck.
