I have just purchased a new pack of 10 Verbatim 43666 discs, I have sucessfully burned a disc with IMGBurn on 2.4x , layerbreak set as usual ( As I always have done!!) but it comes up 'disc unreadable'
I tried CloneCD also, and it still didn't work! Its my 3rd pack of discs I have used, I've always stuck with the same Verbs', no settings have changes, firmware, hardware etc, all the same! This disc is a wave 6 game, which do work on my drive after using an 'Activate' disc.
I've never had coasters before, my drive on the Xbox is otherwise working fine, I carried out a pot tweak anyway, which didn't help, so I adjusted back to the origional setting!
The only thing I can think is I have noticed my latest Verbs are made in India whereas the previous pack was Singapore! I have read there is some reliability issues with the Indian ones, but really this bad? 4 attempts so far seems a bit steep!! Anyone else seen this, or have suggestions??
I've also tried to verify disc image against image on computer with IMGBurn and it comes up with errors once it reaches 50% or the layer break line!! Still stuck!
I've also used a Kreon drive and XBC to burn disc at it's slowest speed (4X) .
Put through ABGX test, fails at 50% again, and still shows 'disc unreadable'
Does anyone know how you can test a DVD writer is correctly burning both layers? I've run a cleaner through it already!
Hope someone can help!!

when u insert it into the pc or laptop burner try to play it and if it says "to play this game put it in a xbox 360 console" it should work fine, try to update it to the latest firmware, LT for lite-on and benq or ix1.61 plays all waves for samsung! i think lol search it up m8

Yeah, wondered about going LT but Activate disc works on other games not patch and on new wave, I have another wave 6 game which plays fine even without the Activate disc! Next I'll try another older game just to see if it plays! I'm on Benq drive spoofed as Samsung so need to look up for LT see if compatible to do that! Cheers!

You can grab LT1.2 for the benq and still have it spoofed as a samsung. Do you still have the original dump for the samsung? If so, load that as source, and load LT1.2 as target. Then spoof source to target. All should work great.

Update!!
Successfully gone from ix1.6 to LT1.2 Benq spoofed as Sammy, all my other discs work and the ones that needed the 'Activate' disc dont need that now! BUT!!
This disc I'm having trouble with still wont load!! All 4 coasters fail the disc verify tests at 50% using IMGburn test and ABGX test also! Obviously it's at the layer break that is the issue, but settings, layerbreak line, book type etc. is all correct in the 3x burning programs I used!!
Still looking like a bad batch of Verbatim DVD+R DL's, but does anyone know a way of testing the writer? How can we find out the 2nd layer is burned? I can watch full dual layer movies on the drive?!

Since:
1 - you've burned many discs successfully before
2 - you haven't changed any settings or hardware in your procedure
3 - You've updated from iX 1.6 to iX LT without a hitch
I take that you know what you're doing and that it has to be a bad batch of of those Indian Verbs. It happens. Rarely with Verbs, but it happens. Get some Singapores and re-burn.

iv always used aone plus premium disks £6 for 10 off fleabay, always worked, no problems

have you tried burning your file onto another brand disc and try it, you may be trying to use a region locked file that does not match your console..

hey guys, how do you fix it? I have the same exact problem.
mine will play original as well as burned active iso but not burn left 4 dead 2 which was put through abgx
i am so lost

Hi. I put my problem down to it being a recent release, maybe there's some sort of new security patch? Although I'm running LT?!
I tried another copy from a game in my collection, and it burned and played, so I figured my Verb's are ok and my DVD writer was fine!! So it would be worth you trying another game?! Unless you haven't checked the Layerbreak set ok (1913760) on whatever burning program your using!

try searching for another copy of the game, i think you have a region locked release.

Mm! Not sure!! In my case I used BackupCreator with my retail version in a kreon drive then tried 2x different sourced images of net! All the time using ABGX to patch and check! Anyway thats all on hold for a bit! Awaiting some flux and thermal paste!! How many times is it too many for diy red ring repairs on one console!!!!
