i put in madden and it started fine and played for 15 min then gave me disc unreadable error. restarted it and it did the same thing, 15 min then error. i tried it again and it it said play dvd and then it went to a xbox 360 logo screen. I tried a different game and it kept saying play dvd but then finally it would boot then say disc is unreadable. im thinking this means the laser is going bad? What do you guys think? thank you

If it's not a CAD issue, then it's the laser. I'm sure you're only using verbatims?

Crappy Ass Discs. What firmware are you running? Xbox Logo = Firmware issue

What drive are you using? Maybe wise to swap drives and see what that does if you have an extra. Since you got it to boot, I would say it's the laser. However, I've never seen a bad laser give the xbox logo

No, my friend. Please quote me correctly. CAD is "Cheap Ass Disc". (it rolls of the tongue better).

Then it's probably laser or CAD issue.

Yeah, if you get the "To play this game, insert a xbox 36 game, blah blah", that is firmware related. The logo can be the laser. I had the logo last night with my amazing CAD discs.
