Do I really need ck Probe kit for Lite-on????

I have 2 xbox.

One with BenQ ( modded) and one is elite ( It was BenQ but I fried the DVD drive by mistake, sent it to MS and they sent me one with new drive lol )

the elite one, I didn't check it's DVD drive version but I'm pretty sure it is lite-on.

And back of the console where it suppose to says the manufactured date, I see service date as July /2009


I hate using probe kit and I heard that new liteon can be modded just like BenQ..

Can some one tell me which liteon DVD drive can be modded without probe?

You dont need the probe for flashing the 83850c and no firmware has been released for the 93450c yet but there is a way o dumping the key of it.

With it having a July 2009 date it's most likely an early Lite-on 83850c version that doesn't require a probe. That's the only one you can dump without a probe or soldering.

yeah the thing is that it is NOT manufacture date.

It says service date instead... Will that still be considered as manufactured date?

I remmeber when I opened it up and the drive was liteon so I just left it alone and got BenQ xbox360. But I forgot what it was ( I thought it started with number 63 something like that...)

Since my BenQ is banned, I want to get this one modded with latest CFW.

Look at the DVD drive. I never heard of a service date. If the drive says Lite-on and FW ver: 74850c it will require a probe. The only drives with firmware number starting with a 6 are BenQs.
