I have an arcade model manufactured on March 29, 2009. I want to flash it, but don't know if it's worth the risk if it ends up RROD on me. So I was just wondering if the newer models RROD as much or if it isn't a problem. I have 1 year standard warranty that expires next October.

Also, I was searching to see if there were answers to this, and I came across that RROD was caused by surge protectors? Should I start plugging mine into the wall?

Thanks

rrod isnt caused by surge protectors. and yes, the newer consoles are less prone to rrod.

Also, the warranty on RROD is 3 years, even though the standard warranty is 1 year.
