Does flashing your DVD drive allow the playing of backup movies ?

i do know that flashing your DVD drive allows you to play backup-games but, can it allow you to play backkup movies....such as my back up copy of The Green Mile?

AFAIK, it should play backup DVD movies anyway. It is quite picky with disks tho, use ones with Ritek dye for best results
