Does installing COD MW2 slow multiplayer?

Probably a stupid question but does installing Modern Warfare 2 slow multiplayer in any way?

I just read about someone installing the game to their hard drive to save the DVD laser and thinks it a good idea.

I think he means create lag or something like that. To the O.P. no if anything it would speed it up. The only game M$ doesn't recommend installing to your hard drive is Halo 3.

for some reason it slows down the loading times. there was a story about it when the install to hdd update came out.
