The guy who is going to flash my drive (its a LiteOn, I assume bc the yellow wires) says he will have to cut the board (motherboard I assume, idk) but he will solder the traces. I think its a little sketchy to be cutting something like that, but I guess the whole process is sort of sketchy. Is this the standard process or should I look elsewhere?

yes, cutting the traces is the best way to flash a lite on

You could have answered this by searching. A true dump of the firmware is done by cutting traces and soldering them back together.

But if he looked at the stickies / jungle flasher guide, they both suggest the r707 probe method.

Thanks for the responses. My xbox was an older liteon so he didn't have to cut or solder anything. Honestly can't believe I waited this long to flash my xbox.

Good news. Just to make you aware that the probe method isnt the safest on live although it is the method I would use
