So my original Hitachi drive crapped out on me years ago and I replaced it with a spoofed BenQ drive, which I have been using for the past few years. I want to upgrade my dash and flash to lt 1.9 and have read that I will no longer be able to spoof my drive for this to work. The problem is, I no longer have my original Hitachi drive and can't remember if it was a 46 or 47 drive. Is there a way I can figure out which drive I originally had? I still have my original firmware, perhaps there is a way to figure it out from this? Thanks.
I would try restoring your Benq drive with original Benq firmware and see if it takes the update. it worked for me and a few others. My original Liteon 9x series drive was brutally mutilated while extracting the key in the early stages of the new key extraction methods so I had no choice. Im up and running fine.
So, update benq to stock, let xbox update, then spoof back to Hitachi, by the way, jungleflasher will tell you what version Hitachi it is spoofed to.
Jungle flasher was able to tell me what my original drive was, so that's all good now. But you are saying I might not have to buy the Hitachi drive... Won't I get flagged though when I put the stock benq drive in my xbox? Or is this what you mean when you said it worked for you and a few others? I've read some posts about Samsungs and Hitachis not being affected by some stuff, but wasn't really sure what they were about exactly, I think it might have been about AP 2.5.
