I've already dumped my hitachi drive using Slax, and spoofed the FW. I have a Benq drive I bought to replace the hitachi, and I can't get it to show up in JF, or Iprep, or Dosflash or anywhere.
I can't get Dosflash 16 to go to auto mode in DOS, but it will go into manual mode. I've tried a bit in manual, but no luck.
I just can't get the Benq to show up in anything. Any ideas/suggestions. I've tried the half open trick already as well.
Thanks for the response.
I finally figured out the problem last night.
I have an ICH9 motherboard, running Vista. The Slax disc worked great to get my original FW off the Hitachi drive. The Benq, however, would not show up anywhere regardless of what program I was using. Turns out I need to switch the setting in my BIOS from RAID to IDE. This prevents the computer from booting into windows on my machine, so I had to make a bootable USB drive, load Dosflash onto it, switch the setting on my Mobo to IDE, boot from the USB drive, and then Dosflash worked exactly like the tutorials said.
i have benq drive as well and am trying to replace it with hitachi one, but when trying to extract all the data from the benq drive with jungle flasher it will not recognise it, i have a sata pci card i have just installed and it still wont work, should i enter it manually, any ideas??
