Downgrading Kernel

I have two xboxes and want to jtag one of them. I only have one problem...the kernel is too high. Is there a way to downgrade the kernel so that it can be jtagged? Any help would be grand.

not possible sorry, certain efuses are blown when you upgrade past the 8xxx dash.

Once the dashboard has been upgraded to 8xxx, there is no going back. The exploit hole is closed after the update.

I'm not looking for a back and forth with your demon. But if you saw information about this supposed hack, point us to said source so we can get in on the action. To date, there has been no credible source with a hack for dashboard 8xxx.

I'm guessing it was probably an old read where it was possible to downgrade the kernel (back with the old blades dash). But as of right now, there is no known exploit with the 8xxx and now 9xxx dash. Like other members have said, when the console is updated certain CPU fuses are blown. Essentially, that is locking the console down and it can't run any CBs lower than what it was updated to.
All members replies have been correct. There is no known exploit for 8xxx and 9xxx dashes. Who ever can figure it out, will be a rich man.

I just fixed an elite last night and found out it has the new dash but its version 7357. Is that one Jtagable?

It sure is ;)
8498 and Higher - Any console with a kernel 8498 and higher have been patched to stop the hack.
7371 and lower - Any console with the 7371 kernel or a lower version of the kernel are most likely vulnerable to the hack.
7371 - This is the "iffy" kernel. With this kernel you have to dump your NAND to make sure that you have a vulnerable CB. Some consoles with this kernel already have the patch applied to them and cannot be JTAG'd.

I see. What do people charge in order to do this type of thing? Plus are there complete kits that I can buy in order to have everything in place?
Also, do you think its worth it to Jtag and what would you say the Pros are and the Cons are..

You'll want to go with a USB version. Maximus and Team Xecuter have their versions. You can also get a USB SPI reader from DIYGadget.
Pros: Custom Dashes
Plays game from HDD with no disk in drive
Can make it Region Free
FTP games to your HDD
ANY SIZE of HDD you want
--the list goes on
Cons: Can't play on XBL (Well you can but your hours/days will be numbered)
