I bought a 360 off of craigslist and all seems well. I planned on flashing the drive so I ordered a compatible VIA PCI card and it is coming in the mail right now. Anyways... in the mean time I created a backup of my game "Fuel" (to test if the 360 was already flashed or not) I burned it on a Memorex DVD+R DL. So I put it in my 360 and I get the Open Disc trey error. Well I have another 360 in the house (not mine and not flashed) so I put the backup in that 360 and it booted to the dashboard and said "Play DVD". So I assume that there is a problem with my disc drive. BTW I burned the disc at 2.4X with iBurn360 on a Mac. So my question is my disc drive worth flashing? Or do you think that its a problem with the disc? I didn't run the ISO through XDVDMulleter or any other programs. Any help is greatly Appreciated! Thanks!

EDIT: BTW The 360 Plays regular or "Official" games fine. It is also a 1ST gen 360.

UPDATE.....

I ran the ISO through ABGX and everything. So Today I bought 5 Verbatim 8X DVD+R DL dvds for $23. I burned another copy of fuel at 2.5X and still have the same problem!!!! The dvds do have AZO dye on them though. The last thing I want to do is POT mod my drive. Still Any help is greatly Appreciated!

Memorex is junk so that could be the issue. What type of drive is in the 360 that gives you the "Open Tray"? Hitachi?

The Drive Type is a Samsung MS28. The thing is when I put the Backup in the other 360 it at-least recognizes that the game is a backup and says "play DVD" but my drive (un-flashed also) doesn't even recognize that there is a disc in the drive.

That is normal for an un-flashed 360 to give a play DVD on a backup. The "Open Tray" could be directly related to the Memorex or the laser is struggling to read through the dye on the back-up game, which would require a POT calibration. I would definitely from now on, scan your ISOs with ABGX before burning. Before doing the POT calibration, buy some better discs. Verbatim made in Singapore are the best.
