Hi guys,

As per title, do I have to load the ixtreme firmware onto a drive that I want spoofed or can I just spoof it with JF without the hacked firmware being installed?

Thanks in advance!

If you are swapping DVD drives, and the new drive is a different model, it must be spoofed.

In Jungle Flasher:

Load original firmware into source.
Load iXtreme firmware for new drive into target.
Click spoof source to target.

Thanks for the info leerage - was kinda hoping I wouldn't have to flash the ixtreme on there, as it's not my xbox and the owner plays on Live!, so don't think they'd be too impressed with a possible ban!

Here's something else if you don't mind, if I'm swapping the key onto an exact drive model do I need to flash anything then?

Thanks again mate.

No problem. Here is a website that contains original firmware. HERE

Only drive that can't be returned to stock is Lite-ON.

If you are swapping drives and they are the EXACT model and firmware revision, you can just swap PCB boards.

You do not have to use ixtreme firmware when spoofing and swaping drives.

example:
Original hitachi drive
New BenQ drive

Dump hitachi drive and retrieve key.

Read BenQ and get the benq-ofw.bin

Do not load auto load ixtreme.
Load the BenQ ofw.bin as the target.
Go to manual spoofing and paste the key from the original hitachi.
Then spoof the benq-ofw.bin as the original hitachi.

save your benq-cfw.bin and flash it to the benq drive.

Now you have a benq that reports as a hitachi but will not read backup games.

XBOX Halo Ed. = DuoX2 w/250gb HD
Xbox 360 Red Elite 120GB HDD = no-stealth 1.6 & XBReboot V3 & 1TB usb hdd
PS2 Slim = freemcboot v1.8 - PSP Black Slim = 5.00m33-6
Wii = w/ Blue XCM ii-case, Wiikey2 & softmodded

That's perfect - just what I was hoping for! Thanks CopperKid for the walkthrough.

Your welcome.
I've run into a few legit customers who only needed their worn out drives replaced and didn't want to play backup games.
