I have a Zeypher board with an exploitable CB. I have dumped the nand plenty of times but I could not get jtag part soldered so I put it down for 6 months. I picked it up lately, got the jtag soldered and now I cannot read or write to the nand. I get the "No flash controller detected" message.
I just installed xp 32 bit to make sure. I am using the guide on this site to wire it up. Using 20 awg wire with the nand dumping part, solderin to a printer port input thing. and I am using 100 ohm resistors and the diode soldered directly to the one point. My soldering is very clean however it still refuses to find my flash controller. Any suggestions? If anyone needs to see a picture I can provide.
Thanks
-Nelmeco

When I have this problem (which I have done lots of times), I get a multimeter and test the connections to the end of the tracks. On one, I had burned the LTP points that bad there was no connection at all.

Can you explain how to test that. I know how to use a multimeter, however I'm not sure how to test what you said. Test the points on the board? If so where do I put the multimeter. Or do you mean test the male plugin part. I'm sorry if this is a noob question.
Thanks.

"I would just but the nand flasher pro and be done"
Modking I dont really understand what you just said. I am using nandpro to extract the nand. Im assuming you are saying buy nand flasher pro, however it still requires soldering to these points, so the problem would be the same...
I just got a very nice 60 dollars soldering iron ( i solder alot) so im making a new cord and trying again.
Miketrev, if you would care to explain in more detail using the multimeter to check the points that would be great.

The nand flasher pro is a device which allows you to connect your NAND to your PC USB, so you get a faster dump, i personally don't think this will help as you obviously have a connection issue somewhere.
What I meant by test the points is, place on end of you multimeter on the wire you have soldered and put the other on the end of the trace on the motherboard to see if you have continuity (good solder point)
good luck

Ahhh, ok I was thinking you were somehow testing the actual points on the board to see if they are burnt out or something along those lines. I will do that when I get off work. Made my cable today so ill be able to test it tonight. Thanks for you help. Ill update once I have tried.

Checked all my points and they were good, worked this time! So i soldered my jtag points, flashed the Zeypher Xell, however I still get a e79. So im going to test my points when I get home. However I was reading on xbox-scene and some poeple flashed the falcon Xell on Zeyphers when the Zeypher Xell was having problems and it worked.
Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?

Read back xell from your drive and compare it with the original you flashed to make sure it matched, if it does then its prolly the old db1f1 point.

Well, I think I made progress... I obtained Zephyr XBR, injected my kv and my rawconfig from my origonal matching nand into XBR, Flahed the entire thing to my nand. Start up and no video, however I dont get error lights either, I pluged up my dvd drive cause I thought that would elimnitate problem and it opens and closes perfectly fine. It seems to be working however I dont get video and it doesnt do the opening led thing where the leds go around in a circle when you usually start up an xbox. Sorry for the trouble I would just really like to get this thing working! I gave up on xell b/c I dont really need to manually enter in the cpu key to get XBR working. At least that is what I have read.
Any help is appreciated.

After you write the XBR to the NAND, read the nand back and compare the XBR image with what you have just read from your NAND. If they match then you know you have wrote the XBR image to your NAND correctly. Then inject the KV only (no config.bin), unplug the power for 1 minute and see if that works.

Flashed XBR to nand, read what I just flashed, origonal XBR and my flashed XBR were identical, I flashed my KV, got e79, however I know my jtag points are soldered on good, I did an alternate point but I checked with multimeter and it was connected with db1f1. I then flashed my rawconfig just for fun and I got the gree solid center light and no video. I'm going to try the falcon xell and xbr to see if that works b/c I know it worked from others just looking at fourms. Do you have any other advice? Or am I SOL?
Edit: I dont have any bad blocks on my nand dumps by the way.
