DVD pcb board fried by MRA hack, help !!!

I purchased an xbox on eBay, they said it was fully functional and all, upon arrival, the drive didn't even eject. When I went to open the system the drive wasn't even connect. I proceeded to inspect the drive further only to find that someone had fried the drive board whom must of had no soldering skills at all? My question is, is the console a huge ass paper weight??? Can I replace with another drive??? What, if any, options do I have??

if you cannot get the key from the board then you have a paper weight, file a claim on ebay and make them give you your money back, i have done it many times.
