Hey guys, I've been reading material on flashing my xbox 360 for a few days... and to be honest, I've become crosseyed after reading through mountains of outdated material and finally piecing the most that I could together... thanks stickies.
I have a lite on 7 series drive which requires a probe such as the Probe 3 and connectivity kit such as the CK3 Pro. Like I stated above, I'm dealing with outdated material with new products. The USB Pro appears to be the newest, best, etc. thing to hit in the flashing department and seems to relieve a plethora of problems with drivers, sata, etc. So, to stop beating around the bush, can I flash my drive with a Probe 3 and USB Pro? Or do I also have to have the CK3 in addition? Perhaps I should just order Probe 3 and CK3 Pro and not worry about USB Pro?
FWIW, I have a mobo with onboard SATA and an external SATA in the rear. USB 2.0s as well. I have the newest version of JF and also the ixtreme LT 1.1 fw for the liteon 7 series. Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS. Using JF 1.3.8 pdf as reference material and lots of youtube. I hope I have provided enough info for a good answer.
Thanks in advance guys.

if you are going to be flashing more than one drive i would suggest that you get both, it is never a good idea to use the xbox as a power source, if you are only going to do your own, then the usbpro would be a good choice for you, and you could get by with using the 360 to power the drive. there are cheaper power sources as well, you can get a previous version of the ck3 to use as the power source.

Thanks for the replies. After more researching, I came to the revelation that the CK3 LITE is needed to POWER the drive while the USB PRO reads the data... However, I do understand the CK3 lite/pro can read the data but the USB PRO is bounds easier and more reliable. And obviously the Probe is needed to retrieve the key.
So all in all, I'm looking at around ~$100 to flash and keep the capabilities to flash any other units and update my own. Seems the general consensus is that it may be more financially viable to search for someone in my area to do it for me which seems to be about ~$30. However, I then run in to the problem of updates, etc... I could at least get the dummy bin.
Oh well, off that tangent. Thanks again.

i have a LiteON 74850c drive, i personally was sucessful with the Maximus Xtractor, and that's the first hardware mod i have ever done on any of my consoles, it was pretty simple
good price too
you just power the drive with the 360, do the tray half open, connect to the R707 port on the dvd drive chip, connect the xtractor to a usb port and open jungle flasher
one thing that took me a bit to learn was, you HAVE to put your computer in IDE mode, not SATA or RAID in the bios, at least i had to, i have an Intel H57 Chipset
sounds complicated, but it was simple

this method only works once through the r707 point and it only works on 74850c drives.if you have flashed lt + 1.1 to your drive this method will not work ever again.what happens when you need to update to lt +1.2 ?. you wont be able to do it without a ck pro/lite, a via 6421 sata card or a x360usb and you ll need a home made probe or a ck3 probe 3.

You Only Have To Extract The Dvd Key Once!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After That You Dont Need To Ever Use Any Key Dump Tool Again, All Drives After Being Flashed The First Time, Can Be Reflashed, Just Using Jungleflasher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Basically You Buy A Ck3 And Use It Once, Or You Start Pimping Dvd Drives To Pay For The Ck3, Either Way, Each Drive Only Has To Be Dumped Once, For Its Entire Life
Your Right, You Can't EVER Use The R707 Method Again, But You Wont Ever Have To Dump The Drive Again Just Keep Your Key Safe, Email It To Your Self, Then You Can Use Your Dvd Key With Any Firmware, And Flash With SATA And Jungle Flasher
The ONLY Reason You Would EVER Need To "Redump" Your Drive, Is Becasue You Didnt Respect Your DVD Key, Adn Lost It, Then You Have To Cut Traces, The Lesson In All Of This? Dont Lose Your DVD Key
