So I did my research and found a fix for the error "bios does not be installed" when trying to boot the computer with the 360 turned on. I have a couple questions that I have to ask though so here is the solution my questions will be at the end.
I struggled with this error for a few hours on my ms25 drive. That was what you get if you boot the PC with the 360 already attached and running. If you boot the PC first and then turn on the 360 at the dos prompt it gets no device found. I found the answer on another site, so I thought I'd share it. May already be written down somewhere else but I didn't pull it up when I searched here.
Basically we need to hotswap the drive. I bought the VIA VT6421 RAID card with two SATA ports on the internal side and none on the external end. First you'll need to have another SATA device (I used a HDD). Shut off your PC and 360 and plug the HDD into the main SATA port on the card. On mine it was the one closest to the mobo and was marked "UJ1" on the little booklet diagram (it matters which you choose, the other one didn't work for me). Pop in your boot disk/usb and turn on PC. When your card posts you should get a reading now saying it found a drive. When you get to A: prompt unplug the SATA device you plugged in and turn on the 360. Let it boot up until the lights stop flashing and plug the SATA into the same port on the card. Now run MTKFLASH r /m orig.bin and it should pull up the drive now.
Hope this helps someone. I saw a lot of other people having the same issue and none of the ones I saw were able to fix it without using a different computer/chipset.
Question
1. What type of boot disk/usb is he talking about?
2.What does "when your card posts mean"?
3.what will come up when I come to A: prompt what stage of the bootup is this at?
4. What does he mean by run MTKFLSH/ r /m orig.bin?
So basically I am hoping someone could stupify this answer down for me, many thanks. With some answers I will hopefully be able to flash in the morning. I have the same card as him and a 120gb sata hard drive as well so hopefully I will be able to get this drive into mode B and flash using Jungle Flasher, I have been able to get the drive in mode B just not in windows, the slax method works, but when I reboot the system comes up with that error making it impossible to flash it.
