I have a liteon dg-16d2s drive F/W 83850C
I tried to use jungleflash to flash it everything was good. got the drive key erased the drive but when it tryed to verify it it said failed but it still plays original games and xbox 360 games so is it flash write or not.

looks like it didn't erase, you still have your original liteon firmware on there

thanks jpizzle i have a question what does it mean when i says to power cycle the drive i am using the xbox to power it what i did was turn the xbox off then turn i back on did i do this write

I would have just yanked the power cable and replugged it, its a lot faster.

It's not bricked, you should be able to erase it again in DosFlash, I'm sure?
Just keep erasing till it shows status FF72
Then you can reflash.

Yeah, youll need to use a program called DosFlash.

It is incredibly simple mate, its exactly the same as jungle flasher but instead of having buttons to press in a GUI you have to type it out manually. Just takes longer.

Cool, just google the e64 error and you should get a whole bunch of solution posts.. some with step by step guides. Also check youtube.

cant find anything on dos flash for the new liteon drive they are all the old ones

looks good to me, Follow THIS tutorial for dos flash and you will be fine ;)

cant get dosflash to see the drive either
Here is what it says
0) 0xFC00 Sata Pri Master ATAPI No Identify possible
MTK vender intro failed on port 0xF00
If you choose to resend the command you should turn the drive off and on after you press yes
do you want to resend the command until the drive responds(Y/N) status 0x52
