So I just got a copy of the new Final Fantasy from my friend and I must say I am highly disappointed. It is the most boring FF that I have ever played. Why did they decide to go in this direction? FF was great because of the story, open world and amazing cut scenes. Don't get me wrong, the cut scenes are great but the story is a little confusing so far and I hate the whole linear design. You just run along and kill things. Seems like more of a hack and slash now than a FF game.
It was far too easy just to beat the game. The hunt quests later on are pretty good. You have to challenge yourself if you want the game to be fun. Try beat all fights, especially boss fights, on five stars. Beating some of the hunts on five stars can be very hard. The game imo is decent and worth playing but it is disappointing compared with earlier iterations in the franchise.
Ya I'm definitely going to finish it, or at least try to, I just feel like if it doesn't make me feel like I've accomplished a huge rpg like the other FF games then I'm going to be upset that I wasted so much time on it rather than putting that time into Oblivion or Fallout 3.

Finish Fallout 3 and Oblivion first. They're the two best rpgs I've played this gen. Get Broken Steel DLC for Fallout 3. It raises the level cap to 30 and continues on the game after the ending. It is really worth the price. It also includes new enemies that are much more challenging along with new weapons. It adds new Ghouls which are bastards to kill and a few kick-ass missions. One of the best DLC I've ever played. Though it should have been on the disc to begin with.
It is babby's first Final Fantasy. I have played some of the others and I did kinda enjoyed XIII. It's different but...sometimes different is good. In this case, though, it's just OK.
Ya I have all the dlc for Fallout 3 and Oblivion, I'm on my second play through of Fallout 3 so I can get the neutral/bad karma achievements and a few others I missed. Got a little bored with it although it is one of my favorite games of all time so I'll get back into the groove. Right now just been really in to Oblivion, I have never played it before and I definitely missed out on it.
