ok i am pretty new to this xbox thing i am not sure if this is the right place to post this but here we go

i flashed my drive with ixtreme 1.6 and is working fine. my ? is right now i have the network cable unplugged i was thinking of trying xbox live. the games i backed up are stealthed i am worried about updates. if i hook up to live will an update screw up the mod

Game updates still work just fine. As for firmware updates, up to now no firmware update has had an effect on the ability to play backups.

what are you talking about? MS hasn't released an "update" that updates the fw on your dvd drive?

If it's flashed with 1.6 then you're fine. Have you not read the hundreds of other threads that have people saying it is fine?

Only thing that will get you caught is a bad backup.
