okay, so i flashed my Hitachi79FL with jungleflasher 69 and now it just says 'Play DVD' when i put a normal xbox 360 game in (a bought one) what do i do?

Does a backup work? If so, then it's probably your laser. If not, I hope you saved the dvdkey from the drive before you flashed it. If so, you could load the original firmware back onto the drive, and try reflashing to LT1.9 afterwards. Make sure the dvdkeys match in source and destination fields when you flash and it should solve your problems.

I just realized that you have a Hitachi79FL. Those drives are notorious for laser problems. Shitachi's, so I've seen them called.

This is common on old hitachis. They are the crap of all xbox drives. Either buy a new drive and spoof your keys (you should have dumped) to the new drive or try and doing a POT tweak.
