Hey, i got two xboxes at home ONE which apparently has a flashed drive (hitachi), i dont know for sure since i didnt do it and just found out today. and ANOTHER one which has no flashed drive (benq).
anyways i tried to exchange the drives with each other since the xbox with the "flashed" drive suffered from a rrod (is already fixed but i was thinking about selling it) but somehow it didnt work - didnt recognize the backup game anymore. so i thought the xbox which had the "flashed" drive in it in the first place might be modded, so i put the unflashed drive into the xbox to see if its the xbox or the drive that recognize the backup game, but that didnt work either - backup game wouldnt start... my question now is why does the hitachi drive play backup games in the rrod xbox but not when its in the other one????

i d really like to keep the non rrod xbox since it has hdmi and is newer

p.s. dont know that much about that flashing/modding stuff so pls forgive me if its a noob question

long story short...you can just change a benq drive to a hitachi without modification done through jungleflasher as the drive key of the hitachi is different benq which is differnt from the cpu key

This is the reason why your backups wont boot

ok but i thought when u flash ya xbox then u just flash ya drive and nothing else on the xbox... so that means u actually flash the bios on the xbox or something like that?

Right but the keys match the motherboard of that console. you will have to dump the keys from the ORIG drive and then spoof the drive to match the keys of the console you want to boot backups on. Otherwise, it's just a DVD player.

I wish that was the way it worked. Every xbox has it's own personal 32 digit key. Both the motherboard and the DVD drive's numbers have to match exactly. This is known as the dvdkey. Quick example: 3A56D8AD600678FCCA891243AFEB864 is the key on the working 360 that you have. You try to take a flashed drive from another 360 and it's key is 4136548ADFS4S32FASFB78866SB4SDE, which is exactly what you did. The 360 sees the difference in the keys and it won't allow any 360 game to boot. It will play movies just fine. What you need to do is google jungleflasher.pdf and read through it to give you a better idea of what you need to do to get it working. Basically, you need to take the working 360 and flash it's drive (benq) with LT+1.1. You're flashing the 360's dvd drive, and not the 360 itself.
