does it matter on the revision? in the other thread someone said i needed to cross my fingers that it was a certain one. Will I be unable to flash it?

Yes.

If it's a Lite-On 74850C then you would follow this guide: -

If it's a Lite-On 83850C then you would follow this one: -

Both of those are for stock (i.e. not yet modded) drives only. I believe that there are also newer revisions of the Lite-On that can't yet be flashed, but if you bought your console a while ago it's likely to be one of the two mentioned above. Crack the console open and have a look. I'd advise buying an opening tool that comes with the torx screwdriver you need, cos it makes it easier to open the case. Something like this: -

yes the Lite on DG-16D2s drive revision is the key question to whether you can indeed flash it and which method you use:

(74850C) = the probe

(83850C) = you don't need the probe

(09C) = you can't flash it at the moment

uh i guess this has to do a little along the lines of flashing. But when an xbox gets banned is it just not able to get onto xbox live and thats it right?
