I have a Hitachi 78 FK but the DVD Rom won't read Discs , It's broke! .. Is there any other way to get this FW flashed ? Or should I just get a Refurb Hitachi 78 FK Drive and swap the boards and flash ? Any help appreciate , Thanks Pittfan P.S. The main reason Im trying to flash the broken drive is to see if I can still get the drive Key.

Even though it can't read disks, you can still dump the firmware and get the DVDkey. Once you do, I would recommend spoofing the DVDkey to a BenQ.
grrr I can't seem to get that thing to flash, jugle flasher says to insert a disc or dvd but then it does nothing . With no key i cant do anything , was even thinking of buying the Benq drive from you to spoof it , but no luck yet
With the Hitachi 78, you don't have to insert a disc. All you have to do is eject the drive and leave it ejected. Send Mode-B and the drive tray will shut. Give Windows about 30 seconds to detect the drive. Once detected, it should show up in the upper right hand corner (might have to hit the refresh button). From there JF will detect what type of drive you have and what method needed to dump the firmware.
I'm getting RAM Dump Upload failed , see the console fell over and It broke the reading funtion of the DVD rom ,The Drive will open/close Though. I hope it didnt damage the Read/Wrire function of the eeprom UPDATE : I got the key , if you still have that Benq drive i'll buy it off you friday via paypal or moneyorder , let me know.. and thanks for your help
