Ok im trying to flash a ms 28. I done a couple of 25 and 28 before so im no noob with these. So my problem is i cant get the computer to see the drive no drive detected i get. So i go to comp usa and buy a vantec card with a silicon image chip no it wont work but cant hurt to try.
So now in dos it see the drive but wont dump the firmware. So now i put back the via card and swap drives with a hitachi drive to see if the card will recognize it and it did. I put the drive in b mode and ejected it in windows. So why do the via see the hitachi and not the toshiba. Any ideas on what to try please help me

Have you tried switching RAID on/off in your computers bios, the drive should be detected with the via chipsetsata card, what model card is it?

Have you tried switching RAID on/off in your computers bios, the drive should be detected with the via chipsetsata card, what model card is it?
i have not tried cutting of raid in bios but the card is a via vt6421 raid controller it saw the drive 1 time but the 10 sec trick did not work. Now it cant find it will try cutting of raid in bios and reinstalling drivers

Yes, do try to disable it, might sort out the issue, and you definitely need to try reinstalling the drivers, what method do you want to use to flash the drive, iprep?
