Well after the nightmares I had due to bricking my stock benq drive, I have ordered a new one and am hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
From what I know, I will need my original DVD key. Thankfully when going through the process of flashing the drive in JF I saved the "BENQ-OFW.bin" which when loaded gives me the DVD key.
So, when I get this drive I assume that I will use FirmWare Tool 32 in JF and load up the OFW from my stock benq under "source firmware", then load up the latest ixtreme firmware under "target firmware" and spoof source to target. Correct? If so, then the process won't be very different from the many tutorials out there on the net.
I just want to make sure, because if the process is vastly different from simply flashing a unit that came stock with an xbox I want to be prepared.
Thanks for any help you guys can give, I highly appreciate it!
You've got it correct (assuming you are buying another BenQ). You will not need to read the current firmware off the drive, you can just get drive in vendor mode, erase, write.
