hi all..im just wondering if anyone else has come across the same idea i have...i bought call of duty world at war and joined xbox live and played alot on headquarters..now..there are "free maps" which are the maps that came with the game such as makin,courtyard,dome etc.etc..(even though i have paid 45 pounds for the game so they are not free really) then there are the maps in map pack 1 which are knee deep,nightfire etc.etc..NOW there is a map pack 2 which incorporates sub pens,banzai.etc.etc..now you cant play on map pack 1 or map pack 2 unless you pay for them.so herein lies my problem...i start a game on headquarters sit in the lobby with 11 other people and low and behold a map appears that i cant play because its on the downloaded content that you have to pay for! so 99% of people in the lobby vote the map off(you only get 1 map to vote off) guess what happens..if your lucky you get a map you can play but with the inclusion of map pack 2 the choice is being flooded with maps you have to buy thus cutting down ur chances of getting a "free map".now to me the maps you have to buy should not be forced onto the options of maps unless you have downloaded them..but xbox are making it hard for you not to buy the packs.am i being pedantic about this or is xbox trying to force us to buy content when we dont want it..and before anybody starts saying" ive bought the map packs" think about this when a map that you have to pay for appears nearly everyone in the lobby swears and disappears.to some up..£45 for a game that you basically are getting forced out of using it on line unless you buy the content..?
i agree somewhat- i have basically stopped playing it because i cant seem to play more than a couple matches without getting booted for not having map packs. for people like me that like the game, but not enough to get the packs, it sucks. i dont think they did it to force you to buy the maps though- its just how the lobby system is set up. i play alot of GRAW 2, and with that game you can have it search for matches with the same or less dlc than you have. you can also look at the hosts maps and see which ones they have. unfortunately for us, COD doesnt use that style of lobby.

he does have a good point though. at least with halo3, GOW and several other games, you can choose to search for games with or without DLC maps. it should be the same way with COD or any other game for that matter. otherwise you spend more time searching for an original map than actually killing/getting killed.
