So just when I thought I had freeboot working, it starts giving me sporatic e79's. The only way I could get it to boot was without a hard drive or anything! What good is that?
So, until that POS is more stable, I'm sticking with XBR.
Hopefully someone will make a patch for XBR to remove profile corruption, because that's all I wanted freeboot for in the first place!
Agreed anybody?

Did you use the original NAND to make the FB image or did you use a XBR image?
Also, did you make the image through command prompt or use a toolbox?

Ya I don't see how someone would hate FreeBOOT that much. I was on XBR, but switched recently, just cause I like to stay up to date, and there hasn't been any talk about XBR4.
And with what leerage said, did you use the original NAND that you made when you first read the box? Because that is what you're supposed to do.

Yes, I used my original nand.
Through command line, it doesn't work.
Through a toolbox, it works, but then gets random e79's.
I know it's no fault of mine as I have had multiple people create images for me.
If someone here has had success though and would like to help me, it would be greatly appreciated!

I have the exact same problem. No luck at command line. Gui worked for a while but I get random E79 as well.
Possible solution, but who wants to rewire?
http://www.xboxhacker.org/index.php?topic=14956.0

When it happens on mine, I have to unplug the power for 30 secs or more. Then it boots and then it's like a inital setup again. Not sure WTF is going on.

Re-wiring shouldn't apply to any other console except for zephyrs.
For instance, I have a falcon. Voltage conversion wiring should not be required.
Correct me if I am wrong, and cite your source please!

Sorry, that wasn't directed at you modking :)
I just don't believe that it's necessary. Simply asking for multiple opinions!

Well, you can still store profiles on external. All it takes is a bit of hex-editing and stuff. Google search it, it should turn up. I think I remember seeing it on seven sins specifically.

This is a known issue, hopefully a fix in the next update. Not sure why xbr was dropped?
good. That will be a great work around for now ;)
I need the content folder there too so I can boot everything from the external. I need to boot the dash, etc.
I have searched LOL. any chance of a link?

Sure, here it is: http://cutme.org/4vdmJ2
And XBR was dropped because its creators are mad at its usage. Basically, they created XBR to circumvent Team Cygnos' "extortion" (don't ask me for details because I don't know. A bunch of scene drama...), but now that that is not longer a problem, they don't wanna update to the latest kernel just so people can go on live and ruin perfectly good games like MW2 for instance. That's not what they believe it's made for.
HOWEVER, this is mostly speculation, though I've heard it many places. There IS XBR4, but it has not been, and likely will not be, released.
You can always cross your fingers, but as of now, xbr4 is canceled (see #fw on efnet for more details).
Hope that clarifies some things for you.

I think I may have found the issue at least on my box. When I flashed back the same thing was happening. Then I would boot with the dvd drive out and it would boot. Damn diodes would touch each other when I put the drive in sinc I didn't cut them short enough. Check that. I'll let you know if she holds now. So far 4 reboots and success.

No, not my problem. Mine are superglued, so they don't touch.
I've been booting successfully for a while now. But that's not my problem, my problem is that after, idk, a week or so, it decides to e79. So we'll see...
