Hi guys. I have a major issue at the moment.

Bought a second hand 360 and it keeps freezing. There is no red lights. Applied the xclamp fix (nylon and spring washers etc) and also put a mod fan into it and yet it still freezes. Seems to happen about an hour after gameplay and also i get randomn errors like "dirty disc" even though the game has been installed to the HD.

Someone mentioned to me it could be the ram on the underside of the mobo and that applying thermal pads could help. Does this sound likely?

Any help appreciated.

I haven't heard of any console's ram coming loose. Honestly it sounds like your console might be on its way out unfortunately.

Neither had i heard about that either but there are a few mentions of it online but not sure if its a load of tosh or not. The console had been unused for ages prior to me picking it up and i was warned that it freezed now and again but as its only about an hour into playing a game im convinced its something to do with overheating but i've checked that.

Weird one.

Sry to bump the thread but has anyone heard of thermal pads making a difference? I dont have thermal pads on my GPU chips on the underside of my board and i seen you can buy these on other websites.Just wondering.
