The fun never stops. I believe that because I installed a Sound Blaster Card PCI it may be conflicting with the SATA card but why. When I trying to go into mode B my screen went black and gave me a warning of "out of frequency". Before that I was not getting a reading of the drive. Any suggestions or reasons to why this phenomenon has come about.
Sounds like the PCI bus on your rig is sending signals to the wrong address. Are you using a PCI, PCIx16, AGP, or on-board video card?
The only recommendation I can give (at the moment) is to try removing the card when you need to do a mod.
You can also try booting into linux and running an lspci as root and a dmesg and see if you return any PCI related errors. This will help to determine if it's the card or the BUS. (This is actually an EXTREMELY simple and inadequate way, however, I'm not going to go into anything more serious without a response/further prodding)
