Game Saves on Banned Console/Unbanned

I have done much searching but cannot find the answer, so any help is appreciated. I have a banned xbox and a non modded xbox. My question is this: can I use the same hard drive for both boxes. I know that my profile and saves become corrupt when I attach it to my unmodded box. But will the game saves on the modded xbox still work even after i swap the hdd on the two xboxes?
In other words, can I save my games on the modded xbox, then play on my unmodded, then go back to the modded box and continue from my saves? Sorry if my question is confusing and thanks for any answers!

From my experiences you can. But the pain is that you have to uncorrupt the profiles and the games saves each time you swap it back and forth
