Can I use this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003KN9VBI/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=A38QA1EVCQJCMF to get my liteon drive key? I know it can be done with a DKU 5 cable. Basically, I would cut off one end and tie a needle to the RX cable. The needle would then go in the R707 hole on the drive. Can this work? Exactly how do I do it, and which end do I cut off? Note, I have no money for a CK3 and my liteon is a 7XXXX series. Thanks!

I'm asking because I read that a DKU 5 cable can be used in the way that I described.This http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=675812 explains what I'm thinking of exactly.

success is reported (-but no guarantee that you will not burn/kill your drive somehow-), so it should work. just try it if you have such a cable around. if it doesn't work you will find out soon enough. keep in mind that if you have an usb dku cable, you need to install usb drivers. if you have the serial version, well... then no drivers needed.
the diy probe is an absolute success, as i and other already mentioned in the other thread you opened on this same issue. i and others did so many reads with such a probe, so that is quite safe. but if you can't afford it, just try the nokia cable. if it works, it is the quickest and easiest way to get your dvd key. if it doesn't work.... well then it is diy probe building time
