I have a 74850c Liteon drive and need the key to replace the drive. I have no CK3 or probe and no money for either, but I do have a spare drive to replace it with. Can I get the key with only a paper clip or screwdriver by bridging the R707 points with no other tools? Please help. Thanks!

You never said what a chisel was and nobody answered my original question regarding the paper clip/screwdriver method.

There are 2 methods available to you at low cost,
1) is the home made probe jobby, see peluynati's reply in your other thread.
2) Full Firmware dump with the MRA hack, see the jungleflasher PDF tutorial (google it) for details this method

The MRA is a ballace, it involves cutting traces and soldering resistor to the PCB. This is belived to be the safest on Live
The probe is quite easy however only extracts the key itself, you would then spoof that key to the CFW.
Both methods are explained in the Jungleflasher.pdf

OK, but the MRA seems difficult from what I've seen.

So your left with the probe method then. See peluynati's reply in the other thread.

OK, thanks. Nobody ever answered my paper clip/ screwdriver question though. I guess its impossible to do that without a probe and get the key? All I need is the key. Or maybe solder the R707 points together?

The home made probe is made out of a paperclip / pen inside. You do need some more components though.

Thanks a lot for the info. Please do not accuse me of rewording the question but my original one was, "Could I bridge the R707 points and not use a probe?" Thanks for all the info though.

Its possible but very risky, many people have blown their drives this way and once this happens your xbox is dead (unless its JTAGABLE).

Winner, JTAG it then, get the drive key from the Keyvault & CPU key :D, then just spoof your new drive.
If you did really want to go ahead with the soldering method, you still need a DB9 connector and such. I cant seem to find a guide for you on the this method, I have never done it personally. A lot of peeps point to this Wiki Page
